The default value of the unicode trackbar string was supposed to be a
full line, however, I must admit I never tested this myself before

Just messing around, I found the solution to this problem:
I ran allcm and allec, which seems to have recalculated the font
metrics. I have no idea why this wasn't done upon installation of
latex and/or LyX. Please consider this bug resolved.
