This should be fixed by debian/patches/mutt-patched/sidebar-utf8 which is going
to be released with 1.5.21-5 (next upload), the patch performs more boundary
checks in the function that crashes so we shouldn't see this segfault anymore.
We will see something

From the backtrace is not clear where the failure in realloc() is coming
from, I'm wondering if this is still happening, anyway I don't want you
to test this again until we have 1.5.21-5, which will include a
re-worked sidebar patch.
I hope to have the upload ready

Hi Julien,
can you please provide me with two maildirs (even if empty) that
represents your use-case? I have a patch in mind (basically using
mbstowcs(NULL, s, 0) rather than strlen(s)) and I will include it in
1.5.21-5 but I want to be really sure

Hi,
Since the bug was just about breakage in the existing sidebar-newonly
patch, I think you've already fixed it in 2009 (in 1.5.20-4, by no
longer applying the sidebar-newonly patch).
Sorry for the pedantry. Thanks for

it works fine I will include it in the next upload.

Hi,
I'm reassigning this bug to reportbug because I haven't received a reply
after 10 days and I believe that this is not a mutt bug.

Hi Morty,
honestly I think that this bug is a wontfix, mutt should be conservative
in what it sends and liberal in what it accepts, as far as I understand
mutt is able to decrypt messages sent by outlook but it will send
encrypted inline text messages only in

We need to find a solution for this, I will run some benchmarks this

will be able to take a better decision with the proper data.
