My concern is the third gnutls_record_recv() call. 'maxlen' argument
of TLS_readline() was passed to the call as is, and TLS_readline()
callers *always pass the full size* of TLS_buffer[] as 'maxlen', but
pointer passed to the gnutls_record_recv()

The error returned looks like:
ERROR: /etc/smokeping/config ... unknown variable 'mininterval'
Note that it returns the error for any AnotherDNS-related variable,
and not just mininterval.
On the other hand Smokeping itself starts properly,
The docs are actually in place (/usr/share/doc/avifile-player/*).
But 'dpkg -L avifile-player' shows only the root folder for the docs,
and not the files themselves.
Obviously, there is some problem with packaging.
P.S.
I'm using 0.7.44.20051021-2.2 version.

I encountered the same problem a few weeks ago. But it has gone after
recent 'aptitude upgrade'.
So, I think the bug was fixed somewhere between:
[UPGRADE] cdebootstrap 0.3.11 -> 0.3.15.

Of course!

This is very similar to http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=380272
The same workaround could be used to overcome the problem:
cat cpqarray >> /etc/initramfs-tools/modules

This sounds like a *success*
Package: linux-image-2.6.18-1-686
Version: 2.6.18-2
I was able to load the kernel on Compaq DL380 with serial console
enabled for both GRUB and kernel messages.
Note that I experienced the same issue with previous (2.6.17) kernel.
So, I assume it is fixed in 2.6.18.
