Hi all,
I'm doing an atricle on installing various OSs and need a way to take
screenshots of the installation process. Any suggestions on how this
can be done under the various Linux dists? (Debian, RedHat, etc.)
Thanks,

How are you trying to connect? pon? Try it if you haven't.
Is anyone but me trying to run the ipxripd 0.7-5 package?
I'm trying to run it on kernel version 2.0.36, compiled for IPX.
When I try to run it, it just goes away. I never see it as a process
doing 'ps aux'.
If I try to run it in non-daemon mode (-d option), I see:

Honestly, use the link below to get started. It is by far the best way to
go. The instructions include links to all the relevant disks.
http://www.debian.org/releases/slink/i386/install.html
This link assumes you are installing on a computer with an x86 (Intel,
AMD, Cyrix) processor.

Does anyone know if a *nix (Debian) is able to create the so-called "magic
packet" that tells a machine with a Wake-on-Lan adapter to power up? The
research I've done on the web has been inconclusive. Don Becker's page
made no mention of it either.
Anyone?
TIA.

Yeah there is. It is called DXPC. Look in stable/X11.

I am looking for a terminal emulator (xterm, rxvt, etc..) that will display
a .jpg as a background. I read the docs on rxvt, xterm, and aterm but
they will only display pixmaps (.xpm). Problem is that when I convert a
20K .jpg to a .xpm the size jumps to 1MB! That is too much so I am
looking for
If you have support for the card in your kernel it should be detected on
bootup. The cards start at eth0...eth1..ethN (N being 1 less than the
physical number of cards). You can then use ifconfig to add/bind IP's to
cards to suit your needs. When you have a working setup you might add it
to /et

I've noticed that there doesn't seem to be a DBD perl module for
Postgresql in the online distributions. There is libpgperl, which is
not DBI/DBD, therefore (I assume) won't work with Apache::DBI to afford
me handle persistence. Am I overlooking something entirely here, or
should I just quit whin
