You *can* run Win3.1 under Dosemu, and there is a lot of documenattion in
/usr/doc/dosemu about it, BUT: You need Windows and Os/2 license.

I installed the debian dosemu 0.66 package the other day and I can't get
it to totally work -- my dos partition (/dev/hda1) does not show up. In
the /etc/dosemu/conf I have the line disk { parition /dev/hda1 }
When I boot, I can see the hdimage on drive c: and drive d: has a file
called IPL.SYS

I downloaded dosemu 0.64.3 and compiled it according to the Quickstart.
I am currently running kernel 2.0.9. If I understand correctly, my kernel
DOES NOT require any patching to enable vm86plus with this latest version
of dosemu.

I had this happen to me until I submitted to Bill's will and installed
msdos on my hard drive image

if i could remove it. Removing its entry from the status file would

A fellow posted a couple weeks ago about problems making a larger hdimage
for dosemu. If t hat's you and you're still having problems, I just got
dosemu working properly -- larger hdimage and accessing a linux
subdirectory. Lotsa fiddly bits. Be glad to help if you write.

dosemu-0.66.3-1. I've tried using mkhdimage with little or no success.
I can create the drive, but as soon as I copy 1 or more files to it,
DOSEMU fails to recognize it as a valid drive. I've read all of the

Hello,
I'm having trouble getting dosemu to be able to access the dos partition
on my hard drive. The dos partition is on a second drive which is a
SCSI drive; the first drive is an IDE drive. The dos partition is
mounted under Linux as /dos:

unbootable one, which I can't get at from my bootable hdimage.
