Whatever the actual reason is: For me the problem vanished since I
disconnected the additional monitor (I had 1-2 freezes per day, not one
in a week with just 1 monitor).
If there is any hint how I can improve my bug report data on this odd

Let the machine run memtest overnight or over the weekend, just to rule
a bad stick of memory. Then if you have VTd enabled, intel_iommu=off
will be useful to test, and perhaps pcie_aspm=off.

Hello,
I am trying to print with an (old) Canon Bj200ex printer using a USB-
Parallel cable on a Ubuntu 12.04 machine (fully updated), but there is
no action after a document is sent to printer. It remains in the queue
indefinitely and nothing is happening.
I configured the

I can boot about 50% of the time, which is about the same as the
previous version.

This is the only single complaint I have with gnome-terminal is that I
