I had ubuntu 17.10 running on my dell xps 15, which worked fine for
months. Today I made the mistake of upgrading to 18.04, and now I am not
getting any graphics anymore with the nvidia driver.
With the nouveau driver I do get a login screen (display manager), but
logging in
since the package version is the same, the patch equally applies to both
cosmic and bionic.
Please can this be applied to Cosmic - then SRU'd to bionic?

Tested this extensively in budgie - installing/removing repeatedly via
gnome-software, budgie-welcome, command line. Works everytime.
This patch (as mentioned above) copies back the artful patch
80_file_monitor_delayed.patch - it is unchanged.

If you need it so badly, then you can probably put it in a ppa and
continue to use it as before, knowing that it won't get any security

With those options NVidia card seems to be disabled properly but now the
systems hang whenever I plug in the laptop power charger. Also, I can
only use Wayland and not Xorg (freeze again). Maybe the last one is a
bad xorg.conf?

Thanks for fixing this guys & apologies for being dumb, but how does one
install the latest stable on a *buntu system?
1. Download & unpack udisks2_2.7.6.orig.tar.bz2
2. Readme says Udisks has several dependencies listed in
`packaging/udisks2.spec`. If you run rpm based distro, install the depend
also visible on 18.04 (XPS13 9370)
