Weird. That is a documented option in man journalctl.
But anyway, -n1000 is just to show 1000 lines, the idea being we don't
want to upload the whole journal, a thousand lines should suffice.

tested with a deb I got from upstream and it's the same.
At any rate, and correct me if mistaken, when terminal emulators are
terminated, they send HUP to their jobs. So when Xorg or Wayland dies,
it may kill the terminal before

I confirm this bug on Jammy. The error message in the notification box
is
Unable to install updates
Prepared update not found: "/var/lib/PackageKit/prepared-update"
and stderr says
Snapd snapd_client_refresh_sync: assertion 'name != NULL' failed
Gs snap did not set error for gs_plugin_u
FFMpeg decoder either way for me. `intel_gpu_top` reports Cofeelake and
confirms no video decoding.
