Hello,
I was looking at the github tags and there doesn’t appear to be one for
release 1.3.0.
Is there a reason there is no tag for this release? If not, can someone
create a tag for the release?
It makes looking at the code we have running on our cluster much easier.
Thanks!
Zach

Sounds good.
I was thinking we could put a note in the Reference Guide for this problem.
There are sections on JDK support metrics and Hadoop support metrics (
https://hbase.apache.org/book.html#basic.prerequisites). They are good
places to document this and suggest to use a later version of
Thanks Stack. I expect starting merges for 1.3.1 in next coming weeks, I
think there's a dozen or so patches waiting for review
and backport, and the more large-scale testing we can get the better.
Thanks for testing that kerberized setup Jerry. Looking at the patch
though, I imagine older HBase

Will do for 1.3.1. Have done a bunch of larger scale
Hi, Mikhail
It looks like the hadoop 2.5.1 bundled with the HBase 1.3.0 would make the
HBase servers (master and region server) fail/abort in a Kerberos
environment after the initial server login expires. It happens on Java 1.8.
This seems to be the related JIRA:
With 4 binding +1 (including mine), 2 non-binding +1 and no other votes
this vote passes and RC0 becomes 1.3.0 release.
Thanks for everyone who tested the RC and voted!
I'll publish artifacts and make an announcements soon,
Thanks!

Hello everyone,
I'm pleased to announce the first release candidate for HBase 1.3.0 is
available to download and testing.
Artifacts are available here:
https://dist.apache.org/repos/dist/dev/hbase/1.3.0RC0/
Maven artifacts are available in the staging repository:
So, some update on that (sorry for long delay).
I've posted my results, conclusions and thoughts in the comments
to HBASE-16232, please check it out for details.
TL;DR based on findings and observations outlined there I believe we shall
not consider this one as a release blocker and move with
Lately the only things blocking release have been integration test issues.
First it was HBASE-16074 which took quit some time to address.
Now HBASE-16232 is the only thing blocking it

Thanks for asking Nick.
Our Mikhail is on holiday and last heard from him, he was trying to track
down an ITBLL issue that shows at scale. I've been trying to repro at
smaller scale. I think that is what is going on (Mikhail fix me where I
have it wrong).

Hi folks,
Just curious on the status of 1.3 release. We were close but momentum has
slowed? Is there someplace where this is tracked? Looks like the items
listed in HBASE-15341 are wrapped up.
Thanks,
Nick
