Note that it's fine to use a non-Apache Maven plugin if its license allows it.
Here, please, we need to move forward with this, and are wasting a lot of
time with this now:

Yes, it's simply a question of timing. We are, in fact, not comfortable in
the incubator at all, we want to be a TLP as soon as possible, but we
cannot do everything at once, especially now that we're entering the
release process for Apache NetBeans 10.

Sounds good as a tentative goal. Your previous messages make me
I propose we revisit this discussion after Apache NetBeans 10 is released
in November, at which point several of the other items, i.e., javadoc,
Maven, and domain ownership, should also be sorted out better and we’ll
have a clearer picture of where we are.
So we could then focus on the TLP status
There are just so many open items right now, there simply isn’t time for
this TLP process right now.
Can mentors please assist in helping Eric Barboni with his requests for
assistance regarding Maven artefacts and in getting the DNS management of
NetBeans zones received from Oracle set up.

Sounds good to me provided someone is willing to drive this!

I'm +1 with Bertrand's summary regarding community.
The only thing which pops up in my head is the trademark transfer. This will
become effective when NetBeans goes TLP.
And of course there is a xor lock with the domains.
So we should at least reach a state where Oracle also is happy and has
Hi,
(sorry for the late reply, overloooked these responses initially)

I don't think any of the points listed below should block graduation.
+1 to Geertjan words.
I am particulary concerned about:
"CD30 The code can be built in a reproducible way using widely available
standard tools."
We of course can build NetBeans using "widely available standard tools"
(Apache Ant).
But I am not sure the build is reproducible if the
6. Maven artifacts available, now possible because Apache now owns the
org.netbeans domain.

It's good to hear these positive signals from the Apache NetBeans mentors,
many thanks.
It is truly a reflection as well of the support that the mentors and the
Apache infrastructure as a whole have given Apache NetBeans -- and, bear in
mind, all of it for free. Really, unbelievable, when you
+1, community is big enough and self government works reasonably well.
The best part is that lots of people already developed a sense about what might
potentially be not ok for the ASF.

Hi
Hi Netbeans mentors + PPMC.
I feel that NetBeans is getting ready to graduate, and would welcome
other opinions on this (either here or on the private@ list if really
needed), especially from mentors.
I think there are more donations upcoming but as the NetBeans PPMC has
demonstrated it knows
