I'm curious what others are thinking about rolling a 2.1.7 release. I think
there have been enough little "gotchas" from the 2.1.6 release that have
been fixed that we should consider rolling a 2.1.7 release soon.

I fixed the problem on the 2.0.X branch. Not sure if that was the right place to

I created this issue when I worked on some tickets for the 2.0.10 release. At

I meant to respond to this sooner, but forgot. Your last email reminded me.
This is great news. Perhaps now is the time to implement the OGNL 2.7
performance enhancements. From what I could make of following some threads

Seems fine to me, but you should put a note on the page highlighting the fact
that the documentation is for the 2.1 version so that users are not confused.

Ted, I'm with you 100%. James Mitchell and Bill Siggelkow have been preaching to
me about Rails for 6 months now and I have finally taken the time to dig in
deeper. And they are right! It has some amazing concepts. I can't wait to see
how
we can evolve Struts towards achieving some of the exce
Nice work!
I've just started working on a Rails app to get more familiar with the Rails
framework and I must say I like the Rails "routing" scheme a lot! The closer
we can get to the way Rails does things, the better we are in my opinion.

Didn't you commit fixes for this on Struts_2_0_X branch? When you closed the
ticket the fix version changed. Wasn't sure if that was on accident or not.

What should we do? I'm in favor of rolling a 2.0.10 beta release and a 2.1 beta
release. The 2.0.10 beta would get the security fix out and allow users to get
an
incremental upgrade with low risk. The 2.1 beta would allow users to start
testing the new 2.1 features.
2.0.10 is virtually ready to g

I'm in favor of changing the dependency in Struts 2.1 from OGNL 2.6.1 to 2.7.
This would better position us once we work on updating the Struts 2/XWork code
to
take advantage of the performance improvements.
I'm happy to make POM changes if everyone agrees.

Portlet support has successfully moved to a plugin. Ajax/Dojo has been
separated.
We don't want Struts 2.1 to take as long as Struts 1.1 did. Let's roll a beta!

+1 for keeping the Portlet plugin in the core Struts 2 distribution and
project. Nils-H is actively maintaining it and I am
interested in maintaining it as well.

There were two tickets with patches and no Fix Version, so I set them

Personally, I believe it's vital that we pay special attention to
tickets with a patch, so as to encourage additional contributions from
the wider community.
