Many companies have their ISP's smtp server setup to forward all their
e-mail, which would fail the proposed test.
With a distinct lack of RR IPs, this would include anyone who isn't big

I tried this, on one of the Windows computer. I changed the subnet to
255.255.0.0 which would include both of the private subnets on both
networks. (the class B network subnet was just for a test, not a
permanent setting). However, this didn't solve the issue. I know that

I was thinking along these lines too. In the IPSEC VPN section of the

the WINS server for the network. On the "client" server I set the WINS
server to the internal IP of the "server" server. Would this be a good
solution or
Windows networking of the "network neighbourhood" kind depends on
broadcast traffic from the master browser on the network.
I'm guessing this system isnt broadcasting traffic across the VPN.
I'm not 100% sure, but modifying the subnet mask on the windows machine
might work. The easy way is to edi

Folks, I have seen some varied discussion here and other places about
stopping spammers. Most folks use filters, like spam assassin and other
spam filtering software. As far as I can tell, this does not stop the
use of the bandwidth. Please correct me if I am wrong.
I see that most inexperienced p

You're saying that it would be logical for Win9x & ME machines to ignore
ACL mappings. But what is logical and what actually happens are
occasionally different with Uncle Bill's programs.
Very true Charlie. Sometimes the folks up in Redmond seem to defy logic.
However, neither Win9x nor ME ha
