Hugh,
You might see what happens when you take back out the changes you made
to the ipsec.conf template fragments. Those are probably the parameters it
is complaining about.

It will be in one of my rpms at:
http://students.ou.edu/W/Christopher.A.Worthington-1/e-smith/ipsec/
You should be able to use the srpms to find it so you don't actually have to
install the rpms. If you aren't able to find it I will check it out this
afternoon.

The ipchains example _updown script in the 1.8 documentation used to have
syntax errors in it. I do not thing they ever updated the documentation to
fix it. My 4.x rpms have the ipchains _updown with all the syntax errors
fixed if it isn't already installed by default on SME
Andy Worthi
Did that fix the errors you were getting in your log file?

on should be exercised with this, since it can waste network
resources as well.
If you are testing this, as it says you might want to change it but if this
is in production use you will want the 0 set so it always tries to maintain
the connection so it is always up.

I am the author of this contrib file and it has been a while since I have
had time to work on it, but when I left off I believe it was all working in
a test setup as it should be. The file includes a web manager screen to
create the links and handles creating the conf files all for you.

I was making some modification to the ibay web aliases and came across some
code that doesn't look quite right. I was looking at the file:
/etc/e-smith/templates/etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf/80Aliases10SSL
At lines 153 to 164 there is an alias created for webmail. The problem is
that this alias i
I was following Kirrily's e-smith contrib module howto and noticed that I
didn't see a script like the previous version used (createlinks) for linking
events to actions and panels to functions. How is it recommended to do
this, manually or use the createlinks from the previous contrib howto (by

I was wondering if the action conf-lilo is run from any event other than
post-install and post-upgrade? Also I am assuming based on the names of
those events that they are only run right after a fresh install or upgrade
from a previous e-smith install.
Thanks
I didn't see a template for the /etc/modules.conf file so I was wondering if
it is rebuilt by any events/actions or if any changes to it would stick.
Thanks
Are only PCI ethernet cards supported? I have an ISA 3Com Etherlink III
3C509B-TP card and saw that in the manual 3C509 is on the list but the card
was not autodetected during configuration. Is this card supported and which
driver should be used for it?
Thanks
Tested WinME connecting to the pptpd server and it worked great. Didn't
need any updates from Microsoft or different settings than a normal 95/98
box would require. ME box worked with both a cable modem connection and
modem dialup connection to the internet.

I am working on several contrib rpms and had a few questions. I followed
the howto on the e-smith.org site and it is working fine but I wanted to
know the best/suggested way of doing the following in the rpm:
Adding a service to the configuration file and setting it to enabled
Creating the link
I am wanting to capture the output of an external command inside of a
template file. What is the best way to do this in perl?
Thanks
