I'm catching up with what has happened to packet in the UK since I was
last involved way back in 1999-2000, if anything. Are there any
AX.25/TCP/IP networks/nodes/switches/BBSs still operational? Where can I
find up-to-date information on networks, key players etc?

I had a RS 2m HT with a KPC-3 and was able to reasonably connect to 3 different
stations.
I switched out the radio and put in a Kenwood TR 2600 HT.
It is lower power (2.5 vs. 5 watts), but those stations still seem to be able
to hear me, and I can

Hello Lynn,
As far as I know, there are only two programs which can manage directly Packet
through the sound card: Mixw and Multipsk.

Packet can be easily found on 30M, the APRS stations on 10151 use
packet. . Try also 14095 for packet BBS traffic . on HF it is 300
baud packet (below 10M)

Hello all and Merry Christmas.
I just recently discovered packet radio. The fact that it exists in VHF makes
it interesting to
me. Now, I understand that it also exists in HF. I use two of the Kenwood
radios that have a
TNC built in for this purpose and a signalink interface for the HF rig at
Yes. Not only packet stuff, but Power Basic (meant for a 286) runs and
compiles well.
From time to time I use it for making some "tools" for some repetitive
and boring calculations.
So, don't think it is not possible...give it a try...you might be nicely
surprised. I am using XP Pro SP2.
Jose,

I went searching in my archives for some testing that was done in May of
2002 with Packet on HF using different Baud Rates and shifts. MixW has the
capability of setting custom Baud Rates and Frequency shifts. Looking
through my notes I noticed that we started with 100 Baud and a 60 Hz
shift.
To whom it concerns,
in the PR APRS net running on 10.151 LSB there are again a few stations
who apparently do not know how to connect a TNC to a transmitter...
Can the people operating in this net do something about it? They are
splattering 3 kHz down, and make working PSKAPRS on 10.148 difficult.
Does anyone know where I can find a packet site in maryland. I live in
FM28 and am using mixw but for some reason I cant find anything on 2
or 6 meters and 70 cm is just plain dead.
Any help would be real nice.
Thanks.
