Hi,
I am running 6.0.2 on Linux. How do I install 6.1.1? Do I simply
unzip the tar into the existing Slim Server directory overwriting whats
there or should I delete the contents first? Do I need to update Perl

Thanks,

Yes, something in the Wiki on how to update Slimeserver each time would
be a good plan. I jsut went over the top last time and it seemed to

I just rename the directory, and extract the new one in it's place.
Then I copy over the Plugins.

Yes wi-fi probably would work - and that is a backup plan - I'm just
trying this option first to save my wi-fi bandwidth.
SSH tunnels ? - I will investigate!

I suspect you might need a longer cable (if it's anything like my
recollection of the SB1 internals; I haven't opened my SB2 yet), but
certainly not impossible. Someone in another thread was looking for
(and found, ISTR) a longer display cable for use in a custom case.

That will work, but you'll need to clip off a couple of the tabs on
the top and bottom case that hold the board in place. The tabs in
question are in the middle of the case (the ones on the ends can be
left in place).

It's just long enough, assuming you fold it carefully. (For some
number of early SB2s, the connector was placed incorrectly on the
