I've just finished reading the October "Computer Shopper" and November
"T3", and as far as Slim Devices are concerned, you guys just don't
exist - very depressing reads from a SD point of view.
These mags had several articles about audio streaming and the Roku,
Sonos and Netgear take center stage
There have been a few messages of this type before, so its fair to say
this is not just a single rogue PC configuration problem. On the other
hand, there are lots of people for whom slimserver is working fine.
I have a smaller library - 5000 tracks, 500 albums, but running on an
underpowered 600M
I'm just getting
started with Slimserver again after years away from it. However, it's
misbehaving. The slimtray app will happily allow me to select "start
slimserver", and it will then start blinking and do the balloon help
"starting..." thing. But no "slim.exe"" process appears in task
I have all ports enabled, and it does work over a direct wired Ethernet
(crossover) cable . . .

I assume you're using Windows XP, have installed SP2 and therefore the
firewall up and blocking. Please read the FAQ about how to set up the
firewall for use with SlimServe

Hi,
I have my DVD player connected by coax and my SB2 connected by fibre to
the DVD input of my reciever.
The reciever has Auto Input enabled, but it will never detect the DVD
player due to the fact that the fibre stay's lit even when the SB2 is
put into standby.
Is there any reason why the SB2

Actually, it's the level of sub menu items that are listed below this
menu level that I would like to modify.
For instance, the player settings/menu settings allow you to add or
remove browse playlists, browse music, etc.
But underneath browse music I would like to change the sub menu items

My SB2 is the wired only version. The only thing I know about the power
requirement is from the product page here:

Anyone know if/how you can edit sub-menus structures?
I would like to change Browse Music sub menus so that it is ordered by
Browse Playlists, then Browse Artists, then Search Music, then Browse
Genres and delte all of the other sub menus.
If this is not possible now, would SD consider enabling

Thank you for all comments. The SB2 is now on place in the kitchen, see
the attached pictures. I did two keyholes to mount the SB2 upside down
- the display was turned 180-degrees. With a hidden power amplifier and
in-ceiling speakers - the kitchen has never been a better place to enjoy
the music.
