Your router also acts as a switch. It may block (reject) packets when
there are MAC address conflicts or issues. An example is seeing the
same MAC address on two interfaces, such as an Ethernet interface and
the wireless interface at the same time. This is why I suggested
restarting your router
There are always several copies on the web site, the "current" one, the
beta testing one, etc. That's why it's helpful to say which you're
running.

status screen don't seem to work properly. Any idea on this issue

Ogg files are decoded on the server, where FLAC and MP3 are decoded on
the Squeezebox2.
So, yes, you cannot scan because there is no built-in decoder.

I was wondering why it is not possible to scan through ogg files with
the FF/Rew buttons. I can do it for FLAC or MP3s. Does this have

Softsqueeze will use more resources than WinAmp, but it should not be
that much more. Is the CPU usage high as soon as Softsqueeze connects,
or only when playing music? I have had another couple of reports of a
similar sounding problem.
To start with could you enable 'slimproto' debug in Softs

When I rolled back to version 6 I realised that although I had been
forcing a rescan I had never actually deleted the slimserver directory
between upgrades. Im back at 6.02 and so far it seems to be ok. Im
going to give it some more time and see if it stays the same and then
try an upgrade again

I'm not sure if this is a plug-on or SlimServer issue but here goes
anyway.
I'm using 6.2b2, have SlimServer playing a random mix and a Squeezebox
2 synchronised with SoftSqueeze. It's currently playing a Genesis track
but the Squeezebox, SoftSqueeze and SlimServer are all telling me it's
play
This seems to happen on some people's configurations, but the server
still works. Try starting it and see what happens.

i like to use udp clients. Therefor i execute on the slimserver pc for
each udp client an videlan server to convert the fttp strem in udp. It
runs well for one client, but the slimserver still recognize only one
videolan server.
Do anybody know how to run more udp clients ?
