I too have been waiting for the Qnap ts-401.
There is still no info on this device on cooltopia. Novmember must have
a different week structure to cooltopia, as mid-novemember has been and

I have all files checked except:-
a). All Shorten types,
b). Wav Flac flac..By the way, I have to uncheck this in order to
allow my SB2 to play Wav files!
c). Oggvorbis Flac sox/flacWhich I have to uncheck to enable SB2
to play Ogg files!
I have even stripped the file types

They shipped to Italy, so there shouldn't be problems for Ireland.

I have now downloaded and completely reinstalled slimserver 6.2.2
I ran the Slim.exe directly so that I could see its console and any
output it might produce and voila! On the first run it gave an error
about a missing Flac. Ok I removed that album from my

I was just wondering what the dynamic range of this device sounds like
if using its analog output to an integrated amp. Would this be any
better than my old marantz cd-48 cdp? Would it even come close to the
analog output of the emu 1212m sound card?

right? I'd expect to be sending lots of bytes to the SB and receiving

I wouldn't say it was useless, although the lack of browse is a minor
inconvenience. If you can still download the older versions, they do
have browsing enabled in the freeware version - it was only recently
removed. If my memory of version numbers isn't too far out, I think
you want a pre 4.5

Ever since I installed Slimserver on my Terastation the whole NAS
