FW28 from 6.2.1 is supposed to contain at least a couple attempts to
prevent this. If the problem persists, there will be more attempts.

Try Belkin Pre-N router. They are now quite reasonably priced. Very significantly impoved range and signal quality for me. This is comparing to Motorola G router.
No hacking required :)

I have 4 albums* that show up at the top of the list in 'Browse Albums'
view. Looking at the data tables indicates these 4 albums have no data
in the TITLESEARCH and TITLESORT fields. Also, 3 of the 4 albums are

This is definitely a bug. You shouldn't have to do a rescan. There
are a number of itunes and scan related bugs fixed in the nightly
releases, so if it happens again, please give them a try.

6.2.0 for some time. The problem I have (and already had with 6.2.0) is
that I can not produce playlists. I usually use Browse by Folder to
identify songs to be added, as many songs are not tagged. Most are

I've just bought a D-Link DWL-G710 but cant get my SB3 to work with it.
If I select to use DHCP it gets given an IP address outside of my
network range (192.168.1.0 to 192.168.1.255)and doesn;t connect. If I
select static IP it connects to the WAN but cannot find the SlimServer.

Do you have any security set on either device? Are you using MAC address

I just got a squeezebox and have been playing with it nonstop. I am
trying to also stream my music collection from Slimserver through
WinAmp at work. I noticed that if I try to stream my OGGs, WinAmp never
gets the stream, and the Slimserver stops playing after 8-10 seconds. I

features available. I did notice that the refresh interval settings for
the browser aren't working for me with this skin. Default and fishbone
work. I have to do a manual refresh to update the 'now playing' window.

Use sqlite to dump your database into such a format and import it.

atlslim-- on the refresh thing...I commented out the javascript that
does the auto-refresh during my devlopment, and selectively neglected
to put it back in. Eventually, I'll put it back in there, although my
ideal fix is that instead of a full page refresh

Airport Extreme base station in the next room. Signal strength is at
80%+.

As for the volume thing, I don't think you _can_ control it remotely on
streaming devices (like the 770). If anybody ever does a SoftSqueeze
for the 770, I'd expect the volume panel to show up again.

collection is all MP3's and on a wired LAN. I couldn't say what song it

Were you using (>>) and/or (<<) keys in one of the skins (e.g. Fishbone)
when it happened? I found a way to failthfully make this happen using
those buttons during playback. As a workaround, the Fishbone skin's
author changed the commands send by those buttons recently. See my bug
for more info
Is it even possible to play XM through the squeezebox2? If anyone
knows, please post. I tried searching the forums for XM and it said
the search string was too small. Then when searching for XM radio the
results were too vast...
The ability to pull XM in through the SB would be a huge bonus.

finally gave up. Have you verified that other devices can get IP
addresses from the range extender? Have you verified that your router
now sees those devices?

Same with me. As I said, the SB is completely unresponsive to the
remote when the freeze occurs. And nobody was accessing it at the time

I set a debug going which captured nothing of note as far as I can
