On a windows machine there is still no sound.
Winamp connects ok , something is streaming as the buffers
grow and shrink happily , the driver is also ok according

In my defence, I would like to point out that several update emails have
been sent out with regard to the delays shipping the Qnaps and I do
endeavour to reply to all emails and phone messages, and usually succeed.
Most are answered within 24 hours, but often a lot quicker.

Slimserver installed on a Linkstation MIPS to Roku M500. Plays Internet
Radio fine. Sees and allows navigation to any file of any format I've
got in my music library but won't actually play anything. Wondering if

Roku officially only supports a rather dated version of slimserver. It
could well be that the version you're using does not work with the
roku.
Check the roku webpage and search this forum for specific information.

The M500 will work with Slimserver 6.2.x - there are plenty of Roku user
using slimserver. If you are sure slimserver is working ok (i.e. it
works with SoftSqueeze) and the problem is related to the M500 you will
get better support on the Roku site.
As a suggestion try forcing playback using MP3
Why do you want to delete dbi.pm ?
The file is in fact DBI.pm - Linux is case sensitive unlike Windows
What result did you get when you did

searching and trying different things to solve my

For a long time, I've been having slow performance issues with
SlimServer to the point where I've resorted to putting CDs into a
physical CD player
sorry, use of Roku products with slimserver is not supported here. Nor,
oddly, is it supported on the Roku forums. you are on your own.

I've solved the problem. I resoldered the PCB en sanded the pins of the
PIC uC. I think oxidation on the uC pins was the cause of the trouble.
So anyone with weird problems with a SLIMP3 pointing to defective HW

If you go with a Shuttle - note that it uses SATA (Serial ATA) - so you
need to use newer drives - possibly a disadvantage if you want to reuse

Thanks a lot for GSPlayer suggestion: it's work very very well on my HP
iPaq 5550 (and Media Player don't). The sound is very clear with my
iPod headphones, but...the battery go to zero in one hour (It is
