Hello All, having upgraded to 6.5b and rescanned my music ( took 5 hours to scan ~2500 tracks ! ) I notice a lot of tracks (maybe all !) are listed three times !, anyone else had this ? Linux Fedora Core 5 Slimserver 6.5b -- pkfox

I am having problems upgrading to version 6.3 with mplayer to handle aacplus audio. I have upgraded to verssion 6.3 and installed mplayer to bin/mswin32-x86-multi-thread As I am running with windows xp, I then edited convert.conf and added the required lines by copying and pasting. I added

Further to my previous post, it appears to have only scanned in compilation albums which I have in a folder called Various Artists. Although I have found a few albums which arre single artist albums which were in a folder named as the artist. Also, if I try and play a track/album that is listed

From experience, I found it better after an upgrade to test the new system to ensure it is working properly before making changes. I doubt that any of the AACplus changes would have the effect that you describe so I would look at 6.3 first. There has been a few threads about 6.3 problmes and

That option is the most you can do through the web interface. But sometimes what works best is to delete the cache file, which you have to do through your computer's operating system (e.g., Windows Explorer, command line, etc.). The name and location of the cache file depends on what OS you have

I have never tried anything else but 6.2.1 and 6.2.2. Perhaps there are some Perl modules missing. Check the logfile and possibly enable telnet and start SlimServer manually. That might output an error or so. The command to start Slimserver is: /volume1/SlimServer/bin/rc.slimserver start (or

I'm still running an older (sqlite) version of 6.5b1 on debian, and don't know my way around the MySQL versions yet. I don't even know if they have a .db extension. You could try looking in the home directory of the user that slimserver is running under. -- aubuti

The volume scale is 1-40. Can you go past 11? Perhaps full-volume (i.e. fixed) digital output is too much and overloads your amp's inputs. How about with the analog outputs? Do they work fine all the way up and down the volume scale with the digital output fixed and variable? -- dwc

Same here. I stopped using the iTunes functionality a year ago because it never worked right. Sometimes albums would not show up as you described. More often, though, was the trouble of albums showing up with each track in the database twice. Disable iTunes checking...you'll never be happy
