Hello All, having upgraded to 6.5b and rescanned my music ( took 5 hours

listed three times !, anyone else had this ?

I often hear talk of wiping the cache but can't find any reference to it
on the web interface ?, is it just the Clear library and re-scan
everything option ?

From experience, I found it better after an upgrade to test the new

I doubt that any of the AACplus changes would have the effect that you
describe so I would look at 6.3 first. There has been a few threads

That option is the most you can do through the web interface. But
sometimes what works best is to delete the cache file, which you have
to do through your computer's operating system (e.g., Windows Explorer,

I'm still running an older (sqlite) version of 6.5b1 on debian, and
don't know my way around the MySQL versions yet. I don't even know if
they have a .db extension. You could try looking in the home directory
of the user that slimserver is running under.

Hi,
I've installed 6.5b1 on Ubuntu (Dapper) via apt-get.
Not for love nor money can I get the library to have anything in it!
Browsing the music folder works fine, and for each album I play

Don't worry. 6.5 is a bag of nails. I've removed it, and built 6.3 from
the tarball, and all is now working fine.

I started a thread about a month ago regarding the scanning process.
There was no reply. Now, I am seeing some additional traffic

Not much insight I'm afraid, except that I don't see the same problem,
and I don't use iTunes. My guess would be it's iTunes related somehow.
Other than that I can't be much help.

The volume scale is 1-40.
Can you go past 11? Perhaps full-volume (i.e. fixed) digital output is
too much and overloads your amp's inputs.
How about with the analog outputs? Do they work fine all the way up and
down the volume scale with the digital output fixed and variable?

You might also try Homeplug technology. Powerline networking. 2
homeplug units run about $90, which might be cheaper than 300' of Cat5
- and you won't have to bury 300' of wire.

Same here. I stopped using the iTunes functionality a year ago because
it never worked right. Sometimes albums would not show up as you
described. More often, though, was the trouble of albums showing up
with each track in the database twice.
Disable iTunes checking...you'll never be happy

The problem in Pages.pm line 1204 is a bit misleading, as there is no
subroutine reference to be messed up by at that line.
Can anyone pick this up with the SB?
here's the web page:

Using my sniffer I'm seeing traffic to 62.25.111.144 on port 80 (as far
as I can tell, not an expert.) But the SB won't play the stream from
just the IP address.
Thanks for any advice.
