Is it possible to connect to SlimServer from a third-party mp3 player
using the url:
http://:9000/stream.mp3
and pass the track or playlist in the URL so the device receives the
stream immediately?
E.g.
http://:9000/stream.mp3?play=123245
Or is there another way to achieve the same resul

It's not the graphical web UI, but some there are some commands to
manipulate a player's playlist and behaviour. Please see the documentation
installed on your slimserver:

I have this behaviour as well.
Even tough the SB3 is powered off, with no clock or anything in the
display, it keeps sending packets to my computers port 3483. Normally I
wouldn't mind, but my problem is that these packets seem to wake up my
computer from standby, and so leaves my computer runn
Thanks all, I used mp3tag and it worked fine.
I also ended up moving my .db file and regenerating it from scratch as
a number of tags were showing up incorrectly, duplicates etc.
Now just off to go and do a listening test to see if I can tell the
difference with the flac files!

Did you turn off the options one by one and see which one was of how
much help?
When I turned a bunch of the plugins off in my windows system, it made
a few MB of difference to the storage image size, but it wasn't a huge
difference.

The .db is persistent - it comes right back after being deleted after
Slimserver has been stopped, the database has been deleted, and then
Slimserver has been restarted! Same size, etc. The erase and rebuild
scan now shows Artist names in text in the Browse Album Art function
but still no pictur

This may not be the case for you since you apparently once had album art
working, but I use Windows, and I worked for weeks to get album art to
show up. Seems my OS was set not to display the .jpg suffix, so I had
to turn that on manually. Once I did that, album art displayed fine.

release of SS 6.5 before doing an official release of slimscrobbler
0.35. If you can wait a little, the official SS 6.5 is supposed to be

My understanding of the dropdown is that it is only for the sort order,
not for the display of each entry. And indeed, that's what you're
getting, except for the Various Artists issue, which I think is a
registered bug (but I'd have to check).

I've done a stack of searching and testing but can't seem to get over

I have an SB3 and all music is .flac
Lame.exe is copied into the bin/MSWin32-x86-multi-thread directory.
Slimserver sees Lame as installed and I have rate limited to 192.

Can you load SlimServer's web page from that machine?
If you can, the stream uses the same port so it should play.
Otherwise check your firewall settings.
Do you have anything set in Server Settings - Security?

I save my radio stations as an individual "Playlist", this way is more
reliable than using "Favorites".

I've got album art for 99% of my albums set up in Itunes (new version
7.0. Can anyone tell me why only about 50% of it shows up in Slim
Server? Seems pretty random as to which one's do and don't show up.

I've tried to reproduce this here by shutting down my computer or

I think iTunes 7 stores album art in a new directory
(~/Music/iTunes/Album Artwork) and we don't currently read this
directory. Support for this, if possible, will certainly need to wait
until after SlimServer 6.5 is out.

Well that's bad news. And here I was all excited to finally have
artwork for EVERY album. Once Itunes went and did it's thing (it
probably got art for around 60% of my library) I went through and

OK, I've successfully converted to a "mixed" environment containing both
static and dynamic IP addresses.

I recently upgraded my router to the relatively new Netgear Rangemax
Next WNR834M (firmware 1.2.15). My squeezebox is able to connect to the
SqueezeNetwork, but it can't access the SlimServer on my desktop
machine. I turned off Windows Firewall. I have the same problem

I did not uninstall the old SlimServer when I upgraded to version 1.6.3
at the same time I installed my new router. So basically it was the
server not responding for some reason. Uninstall and reinstall fixed
