Actually, not strictly correct.
My iTunes Update plugin has an option (for windows only) that copies the
artwork for the currently playing song into SlimServer.
It is working rather well with the new default skin in SS7.0!

I'm still trying to work out if the periodic problems with my network
are solvable.
My SB3 and router are about 12ft apart in basically ajoining rooms.
Typically they are 100% stable. Music (FLAC) and 5000kbps network test
are 100% fine.
BUT, othertimes out of the blue (eg: yesterday afternoon)

Its not that I trying to convince anyone. I just dont like to have
datakits threatened with all actions under the sun for a simple mistake
that we are resolving at our cost.
I know how many happy Squeezebox customers there are out there that
shopped with datakits.

OK, I think I may figured out the problemSlimServer isn't cutting
the songs short...the songs themselves are too short!
Just did a test on a track this was happening too, and it would happen
every time. I double checked the file size against the original copy I

There are lots of alternatives to iTunes, but before you jump ship you
might want to just investigate the cause of this problem first since
this *shouldn't* be happening. I've been using iTunes to manage my
large Squeezebox music collection for a couple of years and have never
had any trouble

I am not sure what you mean by your Itunes Update plusin. I am using
7.0 too. In my Itunes plugin menu, I see the following entries:
- Itunes
- itunes reload interval
- unchecked songs in itunes
- itunes music library.xml location

The iTunesUpdate plugin is not the same as iTunes plugin that comes with
SlimServer.
My SlimServer plugins are available from www.jamescraig.co.uk/SlimServer
I haven't released an version for 7.0 yet though - look out for a
message in the 3rd party plugins forum in the next couple of days.

By syncing with a portable player I assume you are talking about an iPod
? If this is the case iTunes is the easiest way to get this to work.

On Linux and OS-X it is trivial, just make a soft link.
Windows has lnk files that sometimes fill the need. I don't use Windows
for my SlimServer, so I don't follow it. I think it mostly works. Search

Yes it works - mostly. You just create a Windows shortcut from one drive
to the other - so in the root directory of Drive C you create a shortcut
to D:\.
Browse Music Folders doesn't work (you will only see the drive you set

and just a very small part of the information that should be above the

OK, so having plaed around with it a bit more it seems to work pretty
much flawlessly (was playing BBC5live fr around 90 mins uninterupted)
when i have WPA or WEP disabled. The second i turn these on the player
seems to have a mind of its own, symptons include:

I hope this is not a FAQ. Two days ago SS knew all about my iTunes
playlists and would cheerily pipe them to my SB. Today, it still lists
the playlists, but shows them all as empty. iTunes disagrees, showing
the songs still nestled safely in their playlists. I tried re-scanning,
but no go.
