Has Microsoft every acquired a company where the acquisition was a success? I think they neither developped Excel from scratch nor SQL server. They developped Multiplan - which they replaced with Excel (they bought else where). BTW: even MS DOS wasn't a MS development. -- Michael

I don't know what to do to uninstall more completely than I have. I used Control Panel first to uninstall slimserver. Then I searched the registry for slimserver references and deleted them before massaging it with Registry Mechanic. I deleted Program Files\slimserver directory. I rebooted.

This Squeezebox controller is high priced for his function. Nevertheless It's a great tool to control your music from your bed. As I cannot read the VFD display on the SB3 from that distance. For $299 you have almost an Asus EEE PC with a lot more functionality and you can browse your collection

No ... in fact what I did was to first clear all the event logs, and then tried to start slimserver. What I posted were the only events noted under Application and System. slimserverMySql was getting start and stop signals, but slimserver was not posting anything. -- BillMoyer
