I was wondering if the parts are sourced from some other place, if it
is built in a different factory, if the parts themselves have changed,
if quality control has changed, etc. etc.
I searched around here for specific information about this, but didn't
see any answer,

Squeezenetwork so that it shows the clock.
Right now the code is very ugly, in fact I have hard-coded my
Squeezebox ID and Squeezenetwork username into the source
I'm sure the reliability of MS squeezebox software might not be good as
you are used to, but don't worry, I'm sure microsoft will add
CTRL-ALT-DEL buttons to the controls.

Again, if you're trying to use BOTH the order in the list is going to
take preference. So you should be using a static IP on the wired
connections and let the router handle DHCP for the wireless. If your
router is using 192.168.x.x then try using something like 10.0.x.x for
the wired connection.

Maybe SC should be able to serve DLNA or not, I don't care. BUT
SB3/Transporter should be able to interact with those DLNA server
devices.

I am running slimserver 6.5.3 on a QNAP 209-Pro. I've noticed that if my
flac files have accented characters in them they appear twice in the web
interface or when browsing on the SB. I can fix this by replacing the
accented characters and doing a rescan, but I'd prefer not to have to

Yes - I think you may be right. I've just managed to get Wave Input
working on another (desktop) computer with a much superior sound card.
But it's very poor - lots of drop-outs. I'm still looking into it

loopback.

done this, and they said it worked great.

most productive direction, but I can't get it to work at all on my
laptop with WinXP Pro SP2. It appears in all the Slimserver menus and
says Audio 0 is playing but there is no sound from the Squeezebox...

That's not good design. The router should sit where the hub is just
now, protecting your network from the Internet. Everything else should
be connected to the router's LAN p

Internet radiostations if the computer holding the slimserver is shut
down? Is there a part of the server running from the receiverbox and if
so can it fetch the mediafiles from a NAS?

The plugs don't have an IP address - only the thing attached to them
does. The plugs have a MAC address of their own.
Are your plugs on the same breaker/ring main?...if not they may not
work for streaming although will work well enough for internet. Mine
certainly don't work across RCD breakers.

I only used the laptop to check I could access the internet OK using
the Homeplugs.
I have 1 Homeplug connected to the router and the other to the
Squeezbox. What do I do regarding IP address?

You need to connect the homeplug to your router, and the second one to
the Squeezebox. The Squeezebox needs to be connected to your network
with it's own IP address, not just to your laptop.

is pointing to my home PC's IP address.
