Just to expand on DaveWr's point:
TCP/IP has flow control and error correction
S/PDIF has no flow control and embeds a clock signal in the S/PDIF data
stream
With TCP/IP (or USB come to that) the DAC can control the rate of flow
of data from the server, and uses its own local and hopefu

Hi,
I'm an owner of an antiquated Slimp3 device, which I thought I'd dust
off and take into use. Problem is, I can't get my slimp3 to talk to
squeezeboxserver.
Actually, it worked once yesterday, but then I powered it off (using
the remote's power button) and now, the following day, I can't get

stream XM online directly to your radio without going through your
computer server with a plugin. So, does anyone know if you can get a
Sirius internet account at $2.99 if your sattilite account is XM?

New squeezebox owner here. I added my wife's Pandora account to my
Pandora app. That worked fine and her stations showed up on my new
Boom. Then my son asked that I add his account too. I did and both
accounts show up fine online in the squeezebox setup site. But on my
Boom I only see the son's
If no "Connecting" message appears when trying using an SB3 then it
looks like a problem resolving the URL.

The tinkering was very basic - essentially learning how to optimize the
Squeezeserver / Squeezeslave interaction (things like turning the volume
up on the Squeezeserve in the player window, in which the default
setting was "1" - doh!)

I think you are a little unfair to Logitech. They have done a lot more
than most to provide a central services delivery model, through SN
originally now mySB.com. Mot of the competition is not yet close to
this capability.
The problem is when you need special facilities, like the BBC stuff.

I don't know that it's most or even a lot, but a significant number of
people have it password protected. I have it set up this way to allow

As I understand it the BBC iPlayer Plugin will not work in the Touch
TinySC environment. Maybe Triode is working on an Applet version.

will support BBC iPlayer Plugin.

hard to suggest what to do next.
Are you in the UK or not ?
Are you playing WMA using own SBS or through mysb.com ?
If using own SBS what OS - if using Windows your security s/w could be
blocking it.

TO make things even more complicated the new Touch will be released
soon. Reading elsewhere on this forum, it seemd to have better digital
out then the Duet. So if I do go the DAC route (seems likely), then I
might replace the duet with the Touch. The touch interface
