my SBC just hast started this last week - after a couple of minutes of
sleep (screen is blank) it won't re-connect to SB Server (diagnostics
says no ping), but it stays in WLAN.
I have already updated to the newest SBS 7.4.2, newest SBC firmware.
What can I do?

Brian,
Are you probably still using iPeng 1.1.2?
The scrolling got much easier with 1.2 and I don't think you can still
get confused about the sync direction.
The iPeng update is free but you'd need the iPod firmware update to 3.0
or later which is $5.

What version of SC are you using?
Went directly down to 15.

Have a look at Erland's plugins in the wiki - Multi Library or Custom
Browse can probably do what you want but you may need to alter your

hi,
I'm a happy user of the SB classic for almost 2 months now
and after ripping my entire collection of CDs to a 1.5TB drive
I finally come back to clear up some basics.
The most urgent question is this:
DO PLAYLISTS WORK AT ALL (outside the playlist folder) ???
I can copy a PL, that works
Hmmm, I'm confused. Why would a playlist need to show up in the ALBUM
folder. If your playlist simply relates to a specific album, you'd
navigate to the album and play that. A playlist is simply a file that
points at various music files. I'm meticulous about my tags and
directory structure, but
Nice - Thanks!

You could use OS permissions on the directories -- if the Squeezebox
Server process/user can't see the files, it won't scan/index/list them.

Sounds like you have some sort of wireless interference issue. Swap the
SB's to see if the problem follows the unit.

OK, I had hoped to get answers not questions but since you wrote so
quick and nice here are A FEW uses for playlists:
- exclude tracks
eg 1: I usually do not want to hear Obladi-Oblada from the White
Album
so I'd like to have a PL my_white_album
eg 2: Often I'd like to not hear the bonus tracks
I wonder if its because the SB3 in the kitchen is nearer the neighbours
network (but that's where its always been and it used to be OK). I
remember you can change channels somewhere but can't remember where -
would that be on the router (BT Home Hub), NAS or SB3 ?

liffy99
Aha. Understand. And I do some of the same things you do (reorder the
tracks to get back to the real playing order of Allman Brothers Live at
the Filmore, including tracks from Eat a Peach). The only difference is
that I don't really care where the playlists themselves sit (so long as
they have

As has been said many times, libspotify is also x86-only which makes it
even more useless to us.

I've been running a squeezebox classic with no problems for a few years
now. I thought I'd buy a squeezebox radio a few months ago and so
upgraded the server software so that both systems can run. Since doing
so, my squeezebox classic has become temperamental; it often freezes,
has problems
I'm having exactly the same problem after upgrading to 7.4.2. Before
this I never had a drop out but now I can't seem to play more than a
song or two without drop outs. All my music is apple lossless - could it
be that the encoding/decoding has changed and now require more
bandwidth?

The Duet receiver acts as a hidden wifi ad-hoc bridge when configured to
allow the controller. However I don't know what the WEP key is. I
don't know if it's randomly generated or documented somewhere.
Personally I don't suggest using this mode since WEP is very insecure.
You are much better
Same for me. Windows 7 64-bit, Squeezebox Server 7.4.2. I have to turn
off realtime protection in order to do a rescan -- MSE seems to ignore
the exclusions list, that's something that appears to a be known bug.
