OK, i think i fixed it. I went in to squeezebox preferences, Advanced tab, and selected both cleanup of preferences and the cache (i had only tried preferences before). Cleaning up the cache appears to have fixed the problem. Mike -- mknappe

There is also the simplest plugin: take a cable with 3.5mm male mini-plugs on each end (like the one that ships with the Boom), plug one end into the Boom's line in and plug the other end into the laptop's headphone out. You probably need to set the Boom's line in volume higher than the default
