A friend of mine had a similar setup but with a USB dongle doing a radio
link (NOT wifi) to his hifi. It worked quite well. Probably you could
do the same thing with the 3.5mm jack on the boom. A bit "backwards"
in some ways, but at least the sync won't be off. :)

will be a market for that as well. But I think the dedicated players
will never go away, with and without a built in amp with speakers.

The mistake is to think that because *your* having issues that the

I'll give it a go. Have a mini with SL. Can it cope with the music
itself being on an AFP share? The files themselves are all on a linux
box, but it is not capable of doing anything hard like running Java.

Out of interest, which program are you using? I tried all the free
ones, then settled on SqueezeCommander. It cost 3 quid, but it's worth
every penny. :)

What's happened to the old site? Are the boom and the transporter
officially dead? What's that review of the touch doing there? 3 out

An obvious question maybe. :)
I personally would love to see a hybrid Boom/Touch, only with physical
(and backlit) buttons like the Boom, with IR remote. Like the Radio but
with awesome sound.

More likely, it's because Logitech don't think filling these holes will
make them sell another unit.

fancy menus are really a bit of a gimic to me. I love my Radio, and I
love my Boom, but for different reasons. One thing is common though,

SBS interface and from the SB itself. At least with 2 players as I've

I think you may be screwed. I had a similar issue when I had a broken

I'd love to know what a "digital amplifier" is, though. Sounds like a

some of the old functionality of the "2 line"
display so old plugins can be used?
A more general point: is the Boom to be the last of the non SqueezeOS

disappointed if all future squeezeboxes used LCD screen
have to source a new remote.
