I often find myself wanting to dump a long playlist and start over, but
I'd rather make it a smooth transition at a track boundary.

It's not working very well for me. With both my PCM and Master mixer
settings at 80%, the 11 setting tends to clip in louder passages, the 10
setting is too quiet, and 9 is almost silent :(

I share the same experience since moving to 6.x. When browsing into a
large list (particularly, but not exclusively, the Music Folder), the
whole thing (including the music) pauses for a while. The longer the
list, the longer the pause.

to report it works well. It was simply a matter of running
Bin/build-perl-modules.pl before starting the server. The result was a
CPAN/arch/5.8.5/x86_64-linux-thread-multi directory.

Use a symbolic link (UNIX) or shortcut (Windows) to graft the second
disk into your music directory tree. That's the only way AFAIK.
