The interesting thing to consider, is that £5.99 is probably a
reasonable price for such a great game. The human brain doesn't tend to
consider things in such absolute terms though - we seem much happier

Pause etc. Both of these options seem pretty

The only thing that occurs to me is that you may have an IP address
conflict (two devices with the same IP address). Are you getting IP
addresses from a DHCP server, or are you manually setting them for each
device?
