Thanks, Gary, I'm afraid this did not help. It feels like the server PC is under extreme strain especially when the SB Touch is buffering a new track.. Haven't had this problem before, it started recently...I'll go back to 7.5.2 and see what happens

Upgraded to (Windows 7 ultimate, 64 bit) smoothlessly. Squeezecenter runs without any problem. Anyone running Norton User Account Control (Norton UAC) in previous version should uninstall that before upgrading: Windows 7 cannot handle that. -- SlimPvC

I tried this, but I can't get it to work. SB shows the link in the display, but doesn't start playing. Maybe that's because it's SURROUND WMA? Using Slimserver 6.2b1 - 4551 - Windows XP - EN - cp1252 Thanks for the suggestion,
