SB drive.
I think the Touch ought to be capable of connecting to a NAS (I think I
read somewhere that Samba is installed on it), but doing so almost
certainly isn't officially supported and wouldn't be easy for a newbie.

The Duet can't directly access an external hard drive - it has to
connect to a computer running the Squeezebox Server software.
The Squeezebox Touch can do what you describe. It can play files
directly off most external USB hard drives.

I believe the feature being requested here is integration with
mysqueezebox.com, so you could listen to songs on a Dropbox share
without having to run your own server.

If you're willing to switch IM clients, I believe there are plugins for

especially when you also consider power consumption.
I built a MythTV box about a year ago with a e8400 (3GHz C2D) and it's
more than fast enough to handle all of the high-bitrate, hi-res video

I'm not sure I see the need for this format. Disk space on a PC isn't a
consideration, but disk space on portable devices still is. I'd have
both a flac and an mp3 on my PC than waste space by using this on
portable devices.
As long as you're willing to use a computer to control it, the WaveInput
plugin would work. Optionally set up a VNC connection if you want to
control the playback from a computer other than your server.

erver is in some proximity to your SBR.
In your case aiken, why not match the SBR with the powered speakers,
and the SB3 with the A/V receiver? Otherwise, it's probably simplest
to just get another SB3 and sell the SBR if you don't need another
player.
rk too well if it takes more than 5 button presses to do whatever
you're to program.
