I'm interested in people's opinions / experiences.

Try using the fishbone skin for the Slimserver web interface - it has an
"undock" control that opens up a floating window with controls and album
art.

I use CD-DA Converter from Poikosoft for ripping and converting formats.
It also has a facility to burn audio or mp3 CDs from any format. To do
this you simply drag your album folder (or individual tracks) onto the
"playlist" and press burn.

I have a Linkstation II and have run SqueezeBox and SoftSqueeze

to be a problem.
However, given the the limitations of such a low-power NAS device, I
wouldn't expect any more favours from this kind of set-up.

that improved things, but no. I have been constantly upgrading slim

On another note - is there a way to copy the setup of one player to

Your not leaving the desktop / QuickLaunch shortcuts there from the old
install are you?
I had the same issues going from 5.4 - 6.1 leaving my original
shortcuts in place. Once I removed them and re-installed (therefore
creating new ones) it all worked fine.

Thought so - I'll be having a chat with
eady configured with a SSID (no security), IP address from DHCP
(not the 169 address either), and the address of a SlimServer.
Am I being really silly or does this seem used to anyone else too,
before I go and talk to the supplier.
