easy peasy. Thank you.
BTW, I'm getting lots of skips. esp when switching players or spotify
clients. Also, often track X will be played from one client (eg,
desktop) but when mobile comes on it shows the same track X but in
paused state (and track X is still playing).
Can you tell me what
I have LMS logitechmediaserver-7.9.1 on CentOS 7 with 2x Squeezebox

Thanks DJanGo.
Waiting for a few minutes once the "Please click here to restart the
server now" prompt appears to help significantly.
However the core issue here, lms not restarting, was ultimately solved
in this thread:
This worked best for me in finding loops 'find . -follow -printf ""' I
was able to isolate some files and moved them out of /opt/mp3 (see
below). I then restarted squeezeboxserver and library.db appears to
remain at a manageable size:
-rw-r--r--. 1 squeezeboxserver squeezeboxserver 112M Nov 13
Hello and thanks. I modified dbhighmem to reflect 2 but this had no
positive effect. Same behavior as described above. While I understand
sym and hard links I don't entirely understand what 'find -L' is doing.
The manual page isn't making sense to me. I'm unsure if these examples
are telling me
My hardware is just commodity x86 stuff. It would seem to me the source
of the issue is the processing and/or representation of the music
library. Why would 450Gb be a problem? There may be a few links in that
tree but nothing excessive. Can this not handle symlinks? I'd like to
do this: "change
Hi Michael. Thanks for responding.
1) plugins: I have spotty (thank you very very much btw),
MusicWalkWithMe, NPR, BandCamp plugins installed.
2) --d_startup: I added this to SQUEEZEBOX_ARGS yet verbosity of log
output remains the same. Is order important? I was able to get the proc
running
At startup I see these three items in
/var/log/squeezeboxserver/server.log. Meanwhile the squeezeboxserver
proc is burning through CPU and consumes all swap until the proc
crashes. web interface never becomes available. The only fix I have in
getting LMS up is to remove the contents of
seems to have fixed:
#/var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache>md ../cache.TRASH
#/var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache>mv * ../cache.TRASH/
#/var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache>ls
#/var/lib/squeezeboxserver/cache>/etc/init.d/squeezeboxserver stop
Stopping squeezeboxserver (via systemctl): [ OK ]
On further inspection what is happening is something is happening with
the DB. Huge cycles are consumed on the cpu, eventually creating a near
full stop in the process queue pushing immediate load avg up to 90+. Any
way to get more insight to what's happening here?

I installed logitechmediaserver-7.9.1-0.1.1509357021.noarch on CentOS
7.4.1708 yesterday. It's been working fine in spite of some issues with
spotty (which I'll report later). After selecting a few plugins for
installation LMS no longer opens port 9000. After multiple restarts I'm
unable to

Yes --but not anticipating a useful response. The stations are listed in
Just recently I found several stations on a couple of SBR (Squeezebox
Radios) are now giving this error when the previously assigned preset is
pressed:

Hi --I've had 2x Squeezeboxes for several years. They've been... well,
fine from time to time, but more recently they've been almost 100% 24/7
aggravating. I just spent a good few hours powering up/down,

Thanks garym. I shut down LMS, both players, squeezelite. I brought up
one player, factory flashed it. Brought up LMS (no 'Unable to login to

I've received what may be an honest and actual commitment from Spotify
that they will be fixing the 'official' app. I'd like to get an idea of
how many of you would find this useful and/or would consider a new
premium subscription, or reactive a previous premium if this were fixed.

Thanks Gary --Yes I'm synching 2x squeezeboxes + the SqueezeLite player

I will try playing some music w/o synch. But if this turns out to be the
issue I've essentially downgraded my configuration to accomplish what

Hi There. Happy New Year.
I have 2x squeezeboxes + LMS on Linux. I've also got squeezelite on a vm

I'm getting song skipping. That is, the skip happens within a track and
it's pretty subtle (milliseconds, quarters of a second) --but oh yeah I

I am hearing quite a few artifacts / glitches / tiny audible pops when I
play FLAC files (example is below). If I play these same files via MPD
on the same system I don't hear them. I've reproduced this with just
under 10 different files. My system info is also below. It's probably
useful to note
Yes I've experienced this and it's really freaky. It's like a 5 second
burst of mind numbing white noise and digital glitch. If I had
discovered this within 30 days of purchasing my squeezeboxes I might
have returned them (and never looked back). It's equally difficult to
part with this setup

However, it's not from either SB where I hear the artifacts, it's from

I am not sure if I'm playing natively or transcoding on the

It is probably not easy, but I believe it's possible. Sonos has done it.
I will probably have to compromise with just a few seconds of latency
but that's fine.
