I was a bit surprised by this, as
Maybe a lone dissenting voice, but I never really got on with my Harmony
remote. After struggling to get it working in the way I wanted I ended
up buying some One-for-All (UIC) remotes which can be very flexibly
re-programmed / hacked using a home made addaptor and "JP1" software. To
be honest I'v

Where are you? If you're in the town of Plympton, South Devon, then
about 10 miles from me and interested in a good Boom and maybe the
failing SB3..

Maybe a slight tangent from the original topic, but...
I have four original, white SB3s which I am *very* attached to, partly
due to their near-perfect industrial design, an early project by 'Fred
Bould' (https://www.bould.com/) who rivals the better-known Jony Ive and
'Dieter Rams'

Another very interested lurker on this thread (and happy Squeezelite
user).
Not sure if this is a trivial request, but it would be massively useful
to me if there was straighforward support for driving an external amp
power relay (similar to the Power Control plugin) and / or IR Blaster
plugin su

The new "Touch" remotes will also reportedly work, although they've
lost a few of the shortcut keys present on the older remotes.

Oh well - worth the question but I understand the issues. Replacement

I'm really drawn to the Touch as a replacement for my ageing server,
but have a load of non-DRM AAC music which would become a deal-breaker.

My current hierarchy is:
Live radio (and morning alarms): DVBShout from DVB-T
Regular shows where quality is important: GET_IPLAYER (using PVR &
amode=iphone options)
ad-hoc Listen Again: IPlayer plugin
NPR Morning Edition / Car Talk: NPR plugin
which doesn't leave much time for anything
- a setting of "75" in my case, which gives a signal
strength reading of 65% on my most distant WiFi Squeezebox and perfect
FLAC streaming. Net of this is that I'm very happy with DD-WRT and
would recommend it to anyone.

with no resampling or transcoding. The only other MP2 option is
(was...) the late lamented Rio Receiver / Dell Audio Reciever with
hacked firmware - but even that resamples everything to 44.1kHz.
