I guess that I would be considered one of the new arrivals. I just
recently discovered SlimDevices and Squeezebox - after it was acquired
by Logitech, as it turns out. I found out about it from a BestBuy MP3
player with Rhapsody that my wife bought at Best Buy - sorry. :)

To be honest, I've never thought the name Slim Devices evoked high-end
audio equipment -- or audio equipment at all, though the logo is
certainly better looking than Logitech's. I've never liked the name
Squeezebox either because it reminds me of that song by The Who that
I always hated.

FYI, I just received a new all-black SB3. It still has Slim Devices
branding on the faceplace and the molded case, but its remote control
has a Logitech logo. The logo is larger and less subtle than the Slim
Devices logo on the earlier remote controls. It's not too big for the

Aside from the potential benefits
I still think branding slimdevices with Logitech is bad marketing.
I'd rather brand all wireless music devices produced by Logitech with
the SlimDevices brand which is high quality and could be used as a
luxury internal brand by Logitech.
