Looks like I got it to work, by unchecking automatically run at system startup, and checking automatically run at login. No clue why this should work, but it did the trick for me... -- Fleury Fleury's Profile:

Just found this thread after trying in vain for 2-3 weeks to get slimserver to run at startup on XP SP2. Not a ZoneAlarm problem, and it's all set to run in services as automatic. Every time I have to manually start the service, I reset the tray icon context menu to auto startup - still no

Have you perhaps installed a nightly and not done full install from a setup.exe. For some reason the nightlies have never included a file called SlimServer Web Interface.url in C:\Program Files\SlimServer To create this file, open the Web UI in Internet Explorer. Then select File-Send-Shortcut

You may also find it helpful to replace http://localhost:9000 with http://127.0.0.1:9000 before creating the shortcut (which I think is currently just called SlimServer Web Interface, without the .url extension) -- Diana -- Diana

Thanks Diana, I really appreciate the time you gave me on this. I have tried the latest releases (up to a couple of days ago) and each time I fully deleted the slimserver folder. @Skunk, unfortunately I don't have a spare computer. I am very hesitant to go back to v6.3. With this version, there

I got it to work unintentionally back in 6.3 by reformatting the hard drive, but I couldn't even pull up windows task manager back then because my OS was corroupted somehow. 6.3 worked great with a fresh win2k, and 6.5 just works all around- for what I do at least. Do you have another machine
