Lidl is a German cut price supermarket with many outlets in UK.
I see my local store (and I guess) many of them are selling a universal
remote for about £5.
I think the SB£ will respond to JVC codes. Am I right?

Should be fairly similar whichever one you use.
There aren't many buttons on the SB3 remote compaired to many DVD
players like the old JVC ones. So if either of those codes don't
re-produce all the buttons on a DVD remote, there should be enough to
control the SB3.

So, has anyone used the Philips TSU9600i or TSU9400i remotes? Do they
have a browser? Anyone have suggestions? I wouldn't even be opposed
to building my own remote on a tablet with IR using third party
software. But frankly, my harmony works ok, but to integrate in the

I believe that out of the box it doesn't have any. As I understand it
the IR emitter isn't even enabled in the firmware at the moment. There
is an expectation that it will be enabled in the future and what it
will do will be up to the community who design the appropriate plugin.

I believe the Pronto has that capability w/ a download developed by a SD
forum member. Do a search for Pronto and you will find more info.
The Pronto was more than I wanted to spend on remotes (I need two). I
went w/a Harmony One for my HT and TP. Seems great and way less
expensive than a Pronto.
I am looking for a way to control my home theater, and also access the
web interface from my 4 transporter/squeezeboxes. Does anyone have any
experience with a remote that has wifi built in and can be easily
programmed to control various home theater equipement (rotel, integra,
moxi, htpc/imon)?

If that could be done in a Universal Remote Ill be very happy.

Anyone else that is looking for a universal remote that can control SB?
I had my eyes for Harmony 1000 for a long time, and if a version came

(browsing, album art etc) it would be a direct buy for me.

The harmony 890 is probably perfect but looks very old fashioned ...

The trouble with the pronto is surely with a touch screen interface it

The Logitech Harmony Universal remote series works perfectly with the
SB3.
I know at least the Harmony 890 has some kind of RF, but I'm not sure
if it only works with the bundled RF receiver or also with other RF
based devices.
I personally have a Harmony 688 and recently also a Harmony 785 and
I want to get a universal remote to handle primarily the SB3, but also 2
DVD players, home theatre amp etc.. Preferably it should have RF
capability too.
Does anyone have any ideas, and also does anyone know if Logitech are
going to make a universal remote that also handles the SB3?

If there aren't discrete codes you can often simulate off/on by using
other keys. For DVD/CD players often the play button will turn them on
so off becomes play+standby and on is play or play+standby+play. For
receivers/preamps selecting the input may turn them on so
selectinput+standby becomes

Let's say the "menu" button on your remote currently has no squeezebox
functionality. You can monitor the d_ir debugging output to
