Sorry, I don't have a good answer for you for a Boom. The kludge answer
is to record the sound, save it as an mp3 file, put it on your server
as a Favorite, and then choose that favorite for the alarm. It will
work, but I hope someone has a better solution for you.

Don't know. I doubt there's a magic URL you could use, but you could try
picking apart the firmware file with a hex editor or something.
It's easy on the Radio, where usually the opposite procedure is what
people want, ie, replace the fallback alarm with something bette

In that case, if one wants to keep local favorites then backup the
favorites.opml file before uninstalling. I don't know where it resides
on WHS, but it's usually in the prefs folder. Then restore after
updating SBS.

Re Option 1, the ServerPowerControl plugin makes this extra easy -- you
can set it to switch selected players (eg, the ones the kids use) to
mysb.com and suspend/hibernate/shutdown the server after X minutes no
activity from SBs.

I can't speak for everybody's success with Moose, but it works for me,
and considering that it interacts with SBS exclusively through the
command-line interface it's really hard to see how it could be the
source of the stuttering unless you hav

Agreed it would be sheer madness to put one's only copy of something in
Amazon's storage or any similar service. But I can't imagine people
uploading everything to the cloud and then proceeding to delete all
those files from their hard drive
Hold down the left arrow button for about 5 seconds until it takes you
into the setup menu. From the setup menu you should set it to
automatically update firmware. After that firmware updates should just
happen, and you won't need the Brightness button.

I'm pretty sure you need triode's Spotify plugin to play Spotify on an
SB3/Classic. That means you also need to be running Squeezebox Server
on your computer or NAS. Check the 3rd Party Plugins forum for more
info.
though I'm not getting it on the Boom. Not sure about my other SB2 (in
a closet installation) or SB3 (son's room).
