I have the 7077 desk mike which was made by Astatic.  On air reports with my TR7 hve been mediocre at best.  In comparison to a Shure 444 it sounds muffled and muddy.  I now use the Shure with the TR&.  Does anyone know of any mods that can be done to the 7077 to improve the audio quality?

My TR 7 has a different sound on USB and LSB on receive.  It sounds tinny and USB and muddy on LSB.  I've been told the TX audio is muddy on LSB but that may just be the mike which is the stock Drake desk mike.   Any ideas?  Maybe a filter problem?

I would love to add a TR-7 or TR-7A in good to excellent condition to my Drake collection.  I would prefer it have the CW filter and power supply.  The catch is I need to trade as funds and space are a little low right now.  I have an Icom IC-718 I purchased new 2 years ago that I can trade.
