Hello,
I am going over an SPR-4 a friend of mine recently purchased for SWLing. It
came without the AC power cord and so does anyone on the list know a source
for these cables or just the chassis plug alone?
Thanks,
Tom, W1CC

Greetings Drake Listers,
Does any one happen to know the value of L10 in a Drake 2-NT? I am working on
one and it appears this RF choke is open.
Thanks much,

Scott,
I recall that early 1970's photo very clearly. I also have my AES catalog
from 1970 which shows Ray Grenier, K9KHW, standing next to a wall of Swan
boxes which was also very impressive to me at the time. I actually met Ray
at the 1998 Dayton Hamvention. We were both waiting in the line to
Hi Bob,
I have installed the SSN Collins 5x7 speak in two MS-4s and a 312B-4 in my
shack and I like the sound this speak puts out. It has a broader range than
the Drake 5x7 speaker and it sounds much fuller and richer too. It has a
much heavier magnet and a tweeter cone as you can see in the
Hi Darrell,
I recently re-capped a 2-C and used the 2-C can cap kit from Hayseed
Hamfest. Here is the link:

Very satisfied with the results and I am just a happy customer and nothing
more.

Hi Woody,
I added a Harbach Soft Start board to my L-4B about a year ago and I mounted
it exactly where the soft start instructions suggested and it works very
well. You will need to adjust slightly the binding post where the small
electrolytic cap is mounted, but that is all.
Good luck with
Hi Lee,
Like you are planning to do, I recently rebuilt an L-4PS that had been
sitting idle for about 15 years. I used the Heathkit Ship kit and had
excellent success. At the time I installed the Heathkit Shop board, I also
replaced R-11, but not R-9 and R-10 as they looked in good condition.
Greetings Drake aficionados,
I have spent several hours trying to put the little bearings back into the
front of a Drake C-Line PTO with no success. Is there a published procedure
or trick for putting these bearings back in place? I have never seen it
written up, or even discussed on this list,
Hello Drake Aficionados,
Several minutes into testing a Drake TR-6, the plate supply choke, RFC-6,
burned out and as a result there is no HV on the 6JB6s. All other functions
in the TR-6 appear to be working as they should. I checked the 6JB6s on my
tube tester and found one of them to be
Greetings Drake Aficionados,
I have been working on refurbishing and updating a 1972 Drake L-4B since
late March as time permits. This L-4B was a closet find and had not been
in use for many years and has an unknown history.
The L-4PS was updated in April with the Heathkit Shop L-4PSR power
Hi Dino,
Congrats on the AC-4R project. Call me paranoid, but this rebuild is the
first thing I do when I get a new AC-4. I also upgrade the old two-wire
power cord with a three-wire grounded cord for a little more peace of mind.
I did the L-4PS upgrade several months ago using Mike Bryce's
OK. I have not
done a full alignment as yet however. With he long weekend coming up, I plan
to dig into the problem some more.

bands. The neutralization is good.
Operating on SSB, CW and AM are all normal and sound good while listening on
a second receiver. Other than this problem the TR-4C seems to be running
well.
Any words of wisdom out there on this problem?
Thanks and happy new year to the Drakelist.

Hello Drake Aficionados,
I recently purchased a late serial number Drake RV-4C and when I connected
it to a TR-4 I noticed the dial lamp wasn't very bright. On further checking
I found that the bulb was a #53 as called for in the schematic, but there
is a 1 watt dropping resistor in series with
Hello all,
I am in the process of restoring an R-4C and I am looking to buy the FL1500
and FL6000 filters for this radio. If you have one of these filters to sell,
please drop me a note with the details and price.
Thanks and 73,
