Demis,
Check for +10 on pin 36 of the PBT/Reference board when the TR-7 is keyed in
AM mode. There then will be about 0.5 volt ppk of 5.645 mhz RF diode switched

The TR-7 always transmits through the stock 2.3 khz SSB filter regardless of

That's correct. Since AM transmit is simply SSB with carrier, and Demis' radio
works in SSB, the problem must be somewhere in the mode switching. Possibly the
mode switch itself. But first, it would be a good idea to check for
dirty/oxidized Molex connectors between the parent board and each of the

I recently repaired this exact problem on a TR-7 that I have here.
When I changed bands with the band switch, it would stay on the previous
band. If I switched the AUX switch to 1 and back, it would change to the
band selected by the band switch. I did not have an AUX-7 installed.
My problem

the normal position it issues the store.
Demis, do you have an AUX-7 board installed in your radio? That might make a
difference.

Have had it happen..In my case cannot remember whether it was a loose P1 or
P2 connector going to the DR7 board.
Check the switch on the back of the radio marked CNTR is in the NORM position.
