Thanks Mark. The 2 jar files (i.e. bcmail-jdk14-135 and bcprov-jdk14-135
from dspace 1.4.2/lib folder) made it work.
Cheers!

Hello Jayan,
I'd look for bouncycastle jars in your lib directory, if they are
absent, you'll need to get them, you might just download dspace 1.4.2
and copy them out of there.

Sorry being late to pick on this.
Shibboleth allows SSO to applications, hence once they've logged to Moodle,
they can access dspace resources and despite being asked to login (in fact
it's just a set of redirects, user never needs to login anymore), they will

Julio,
Others can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that this could be
accomplished if you really understand how that handle server works.
Essentially all it really needs to be able to do is query the
underlying database behind your DSpace installation and then

Hello!
I have a
question about Dspace and Handle server.
Actually, we
have installed Dspace (version 1.4.2) and Handle server in different
machines/ips. Does
anybody know if this architecture it’s possible to setup in Dspace?
Thanks in advance.

Yes, you must try to modify the apache tomcat config file server.xml, you
must add the encoding you want to use:
as you can see i use utf-8, that solved a similar problem that the one

Hi,
We found that when we search Chinease words in DSpace, the search-result
page
shows meaningless characters. There should be something wrong with the
encoding.
We set the both home.jsp and search/result.jsp's page attribute like this:
<%@ page contentType="text/html;charset=UTF-8" %>

Stuart,
Thank you for directing us to the handle system proxy server. That is
certainly a tool that we will be able to utilize in the future. As you have
discovered, we were able to resolve our handle resolution issue. I wanted to
quickly outline the steps we took for the mailing list.

I have a Filemaker database of records associated with a set of image files
produced from archaeological fieldwork. I'd like to transfer copies of the
records and images to dspace. I'd like the metadata to be keyword searchable
through the default jspui dspace interface. (I'd also like to provi
