Hello,
I tried to change the theme from Reference to Kubrick just as an experiment
as I start the learn manakin and after restarting tomcat I got a Resource
not found error when I refreshed my dspace page. After some poking around I
gave up and reverted to the original Reference theme. But now
Hi,
Thanks Claudia. I prefer doing this at the input-forms.xml (1.4.x). My
question is, in input-forms.xml, Spanish is represented as Español and
french as Français. I need help on how to represent Português language.
Is there anyone from Portugal that can help?

Hi Obiajulu,
I'm not quite sure (bit lost in translation) where your problem lies.
Do you mean the language selection list?
In input-forms.xml (1.4.2) the field

dc-schemadc/dc-schema
dc-elementlanguage/dc-element
dc-qualifieriso/dc-qualifier

Hi Obiajulu,
does this one work: Português ?

hello,
Whilst customising my theme I altered the message for

Hi Claudia,
Yes, I mean the langugage selection list input-forms.xml. Sorry for not

Hi Stuart,
Im afraid Im still stuck with this. I have installed some system
updates a few weeks ago by apt-get, but nothing that I could think of
causing this.
I looked into item data and found data that looks ok to me:

Hi Leonie,
this is because jspui is including Dublin Core metadata in head/meta
elements.
For this to work with Manakin, you have to change your theme xsl stylesheet.

Dear Marlow,
Your Dspace is not broken, it is completely safe and sound. You have missed
some basics.
Please Follow the steps bellow:
1. Stop the tomcat web service
2. Delete [xmlui] directory from [C:\Program Files\Apache Software
Foundation\Tomcat 5.5\webapps]
3. Go to
Hi Leonie,
I added some support for Http headers in [EMAIL PROTECTED] using a
combination of RDF generation and transformation in Manakin. It may
be a bit more than what you need. It provides two functionalities.
1.) An alternate link to an RDF representation of the Item. See:
Hello,
Now that I have finally got DSpace working and I have been able to customize
the xmlui so it looks more like what I want, I am ready to consider
importing documents into it. So I have to look at how they will organised
with respect to communities, collections and items. But I have a

How do you reset or resend a password in DSpace?

Hi Eric,
she can reset her password by using
http(s)://YourURL/forgot
An email with a link will be send to the email address with which she did
register before. Using this link, she can reset her password.
Hope that helps

In DSpace 1.4.2, what exactly does the cleanup job do? For one
thing, I think it deletes assetstore entries for online records in
DSpace that have been deleted, however I'm wondering if it also deletes
replaced bitstream rows? For example, let's say a document for an

I discovered a couple of weeks ago that we have it. I've been meaning to try
to run down exactly where primary_bitstream_id is getting inserted (I assume
it's wrong, since only 21 out of 8521 rows have it), but haven't found the time.
Any help would be hugely appreciated.

Yes, what I'm having to do is run cleanup until it fails, then look in
the log for which bundle_id it failed on, then run a bunch of database
queries trying to identify which row in bitstream the
bundle.primary_bitstream_id points to, and which row it *should* point
to, update the correct row in
It seems to me I've seen that the primary_bitstream_id and the
mets_bitstream_id are both unused fields, and should be Null. Is that wrong?
I toyed with the idea of setting my few values to Null, but thought better of
it before finding out exactly why some are getting updated.

We should come up with a case that we can replicate.
1.) Add Bitstream to Item, set as primary bitstream.

4.) Upload new bitstream, set as primary bitstream.
5.) Check if Primary Bitstream is properly set. (I
Hi Matthias
You usually get the least elegant but the simplest option from me. If
you want a bulk import done, then you could use the item
importer/exporter, firstly to export collection A's items, then to
import them into collection B with the --workflow flag. This will force
items to be

I think that's the root of the problem, however when I run a query to
update all bundle.primary_bitstream_id to 0, here's what I get:
ERROR: insert or update on table bundle violates foreign key
constraint $2
DETAIL: Key (primary_bitstream_id)=(0) is not present in table
bitstream.
However, primary_bitstream_id is used by the application even in 1.5
to identify the case when only one bitstream should be exposed in the
UI (for instance an Item containing a website in HTML). This is not
functionality that has gone away.

Hi...
In October I moved my DSpace 1.4.2 instance to a new server which is
faster and has more memory. I upgraded my Apache to 2.2.4, added
mod_jk and Tomcat 5.5.26.
My old instance worked fine with Apache 1.3.26, mod_webapp and tomcat
4.0.6. In both cases I was and am using PostGreSQL 8.3.
Hey George,
About a year ago we discussed a similar issue concerning a malicious
user. I think back the Alex commented about trying to use mod_cband
to throttle back aggressive clients.

But I would toss in that
Hi Jochen,
Our DSpace deployments don't start at root URL, hence not having that problem.
Another approach is to do a specific URL unmounting/rewriting for the Shib end
points. Usually you need to instruct Apache *not* to mount it to Tomcat, e.g.:
