Well, the only other thing I can think of is some error in
configuration. How did you upgrade your configuration to 3.x? Did you
take your old one and add new things or did you take the new one and
add all your local changes? I'd recommend the second approach.

I thought it would be enough to get it to work.
1) Try running update-discovery-index -b and test again
2) If it still doesn't work, connect to Solr [1] and use Schema
Browser to check whether the search index contains _hl fields, e.g.
DC.TITLE_HL, FULLTEXT_HL.
