Hi Hank, Its not limited to JA. I believe anyone using a gateway not linked to a reflector making a source routed call to either a user or a gateway repeater will be heard only by the one gateway repeater. The station replying using one touch, on a linked gateway repeater will be routed to th

Hi Hank, What if their Gateways do not have linking capabilities as in Japan ? The JA station would have UR=NU5D, RPT1=JP4YDU A and RPT2=JP4YDU G . I reply with UR=JA4NYY, RPT1=K5CTX B and RPT2=K5CTX G . 73 When K5CTX B is linked, folks on the reflector will hear my transmission, but not

Really? If some comes into a repeater via the gateway and that repeater is linked to a reflector, they won't be heard on the other repeaters linked to the reflector? on the reflector. I'm going to get that one explained to me by one of my local guru's because I assumed they would be heard . Fr

Hi Fran, Trouble is other linked gateways hear only one side of the conversation - not a pleasant thing. Many stations do not use reflectors or linking. steve PS - Side note - VY sad that Paris / Courbevoie are not on the gateway network due to regulatory issues. sb Fran Miele wrote: > > >

I think having repeater linked is GREAT also. And it does help promote DSTAR and keep repeaters more active. So I guess I would ask: why not go ahead with you call, keeping the repeaters linked and let everyone participate if they want? We do Fran

I believe linking dstar repeaters has made a tremendous contribution to the growth of dstar and accelerated the growth in number of users and activity. That said: Our local repeaters are linked to different reflectors using a time table. 2AM-11AM to 5A, and 11AM to 2AM to 1C. Folks only have
