Well, now you know what its like for us guys to work Kure or Kermadec or
Banaba.
Nobody likes in the perfect QTH for the whole world. I guess thats what
makes it interesting..
Try living at 56 degrees north! - now thats a challenge! Like half
way up Hudson's bay or south Alaska!

Was Kure really that difficult for west-coast of Europe? Looks like
40, 30 and 20 had decent propagation (at least according to the
software). From ZL8 to GM, yeah, using tod
VU4AN/VU3CHE was 5/0 on 17 meter SSB today
at 1150 EST in SE Va. He was workable by the numbers but spent very short

I guess my QTH is on Steriods here on Long Island...all the VU4 stations
have been booming in. Charley Harpole was peaking 5 over on 17 today ! The
20 CW ops are usually s8-9 . CW,RTTY, SSB I am not complaining !

Be glad it´s only 56 degs, I´m at 66 degs and I´ll
tell you it´s no kids game.
However VU4 is easy from here, even so I had to spend
45 minutes calling a VU4 on 30m before I got him, go
figure why since my antenna on 30 is decent and I tried
every trick in the book.
