Anyone know offhand if DL6MYL is still issuing cards for the H8A debacle back
in 2002?
I've sent in direct requests twice now, plus one via WF5L, and to date, nada.
Just hate to throw away more shekels if it's a black hole...

It's coming up on 18 months since the H8A debacle. Haven't seen or heard
anything about QSL'ing from them in quite some time. Anyone hear anything
further?

Haven't heard too much from the group after all the local unrest that got

In all the discussion that has gone before (and probably since), I am still
waiting to see an official announcement SOMEWHERE that this operation either
counts or does not count. I've not seen anything on any of the usual DX news
sheets, (probably missed it!!)..Steve, G3OAG

Well authorities do make mistakes and perhaps they issued a call that is not
standard. My suggestion would be instead of complaining to a world forum,
go to the authorities and determine what is going on first.
Botswana issued me an A22 call. It was a mistake. Foreigners are only
supposed to h
We saw one person complaining that the callsign was illegal. I wonder if
he actually checked with the authorities to see if the callsign was
issued?
I know I worked V7A in a contest once; it was a special call issued to a
station normally having a V73 callsign.

Hi Ron:Just to clear things. The callsign H8A was used without the legal authorizations
and in violations of the laws of the Republic of Panama. But there is more:
it is an incorrect callsign, according to the panamanian laws, as it should
have included the number corresponding to the calling
H8 is a proper prefix for Panama. H8A is operating from Contadora Island
NA-072 and QSL route is correct as DL6MYL.

I noticed on the cluster quite a few spots complaining about the H8A call.
Most of them used either no call (such as "HP-@") or faked one ("DL6MYL"
which is the QSL manager's call was one, and another alleged to be "HP1AC")
to kvetch that either H8A is a pirate, or that the call should be "H81A"
