Bill, I'm not at the ham shack computer, but I think "bye" is in F3 or F4.
I'm not surprised that something different happens when you try this--it may
depend on just how your screen is set up. Nonetheless, we now know I'm not
doing something wrong. Have we discovered a bug?

Hi All: I just worked the International Space Station, Valery, RS0ISS.
DX4WIN thinks it is UA9. Obviously it doesn't count as UA9 on 2 meters.
How do I log it?
Does DX4WIN have a country for manned spacecraft? Perhaps it should be "AM"
Aeronautical mobile. Any thoughts?
I am thrilled to have
Actually DOS is not really "gone". One has to understand the architecture
of XP, Win2K as well as WinNT4. They are much the same. DOS as well as
the 16 bit runtime run as "sub-systems". This has been true with XP and
its predecessors. Chances are that DOS will never go away because there

Brian,
If you have "Quick Split" set to "On" on the 756PROII, the behavior you
mention is the default. The easiest way to accomplish the behavior you want
is to set "Quick Split" to "Off". Then clicking on spots will set the spit
frequencies correctly and bring the main VFO "VFO A" into the fore

Hi all -
I have been watching this list for some time now and it goes without saying
that I'm impressed with the knowledge displayed. I can find my way around
the keyboard but comparing my computer knowledge to most of yours is like
comparing putt putt golf to the PGA tour.
I would like the opini
XP is an evolution of WIN2000 and WIN98 and doesn't "really" have DOS. XP
and WIn2000 have a Command Prompt (C:> prompt), and certain old DOS commands
are still available, but I doubt you could count on "old" ham programs that
utilize anything very special, e.g. soundcard, to work under XP. This
I just purchased a new PC that uses Windows XP. I hooked up my 1000mp to the
serial port and everything seemed to work fine. Until i turned the radio off
while connected to the DX Cluster. I got a message of an interrupt and clicked
OK. Then i decided to turn the rig back on and i also clicked t

I have XP on my main machine and my wife's.
I kept 98 on my radio machine.
All of them are networked in a home system.
I think keeping 98 on my radio computer was a wise move on my part.

Hi All.
Thank you all for the help you have given me in the past but I am still
suffering.
For a ham, there are three great traumatic experiences
Bereavement; divorce; changing your logging program.
I am in the throes of the last of these.
I converted from Logplus. It had a facility to indic
Hi Frank, I just tried this event you described. I had not noticed but mine

"bye" tho, I have put my call in the first buffer. Do you have "bye" in the #1
buffer???

A little known dollar saver is that you CAN send cards for foreign DX

Noticed an interesting problem the other day. Thought I was making some
error, but now think I'm missing something...
I normally minimize the Packet Window to save screen real-estate once my
connection is up and running. From time-to-time, though, open the Window
